What is the relationship between Buddhism and psychotherapy? Is it possible to practice psychotherapy beyond the personal narrative?
Buddhism believes that our unhappiness may be brought to an end by knowing how things truly are. This starts when we turn towards ourselves and begin to accept and embrace those parts of ourselves that we are afraid of going near. In this respect both psychotherapy and Buddhism share a path and a goal.
This retreat is specifically for psychotherapists, counsellors and mental health professionals who want to enhance their understanding of how the ideas and meditative skills of Buddhism may be integrated into their work. Starting with bringing presence to the emotions felt within the body, the retreat will unfold towards resting within the basic space of awareness in which our personal narrative arises and dissolves.
It also hoped that this retreat will offer a space in which practitioners can explore and share their own insights in this area and mutually enrich each other.
