Witness the Blackburn Buccaneer in action and support the team keeping this iconic aircraft running for future generations.
About this Event

Join The Buccaneer Aviation Group at Cotswold Airport for their last Buccaneer Running Day of 2026!

The team plans to perform a taxi run along the runway with at least one aircraft and show off all of the Blackburn Buccaneer's many features at close proximity.

Visitors will have access to an enclosure located next to the airport's North Apron, where the start-up sequence will happen just feet away. The aircraft will perform a figure of eight and a hydraulic systems demonstration before carrying out a taxi run. The Buccaneer will then taxi back to the North Apron for a static high-powered engine run, before shutting down in front of the crowd.

Visitors will get an hour's lunch break, allowing the team to return the aircraft to base and giving you the opportunity to check out the rest of Cotswold Airport and its numerous aircraft on display, or even take a bite to eat at the AV8 Cafe.

After lunch, you will be invited airside, where you can take a close look at both our aircraft and cockpit section. You will be able to sit in our cockpit section, talk about anything Buccaneer and aircraft related to our volunteers who help keep the aircraft living and breathing.

One aircraft will perform several static cycles of the hydraulic systems just feet away, such as wing folds, airbrake, arrestor hook, bomb door, etc.

Ear Defenders - You must bring ear defenders; earplugs are provided to those without.

Hi-Viz Clothing - You must wear hi-viz clothing at all times, especially once airside.

Toilet - Toilets are provided throughout the day. (Not disabled access)

Food - Provided by the airport's AV8 Cafe next to the control tower and Boeing 747.
