Bubbles & Ballroom is a 90-minute beginner Ballroom and Latin social experience created for couples, double dates and pairs of friends looking for something genuinely different to enjoy together.
Never danced before? Perfect.
Whether you have two left feet, no dance coordination or have never stepped onto a dance floor, you are in exactly the right place.
This is a zero-pressure experience designed for laughing, connecting and trying something new together. There is no performance, no judgement and no expectation that you will already know the steps.
Just great music, a welcome drink and a relaxed evening of Ballroom and Latin dancing guided from beginning to end.

🎤 Meet your host, Blair Petterd
Blair Petterd is a professional Ballroom dancer, coach and the founder of Beyond The Steps.
A multi-time New Zealand Professional Champion and 2025 Australian Pro/Am Champion, Blair has spent more than thirty years in the Ballroom world, including competing internationally, coaching dancers and managing leading dance studios.
Blair specialises in creating welcoming environments where complete beginners can relax and enjoy learning. He breaks Ballroom and Latin dancing into simple, approachable steps and guides the room with warmth, clarity and plenty of encouragement.
You will be in experienced—and very supportive—hands from your first step.
💡 Good to know before you go
Arrival: Doors open at 6:45pm. Dancing begins promptly at 7:00pm.
Dress: Smart casual. Wear something you feel comfortable moving in and shoes that stay securely on your feet. Flats, loafers or low heels are recommended. Please avoid heavy work boots and shoes with thick or high-grip rubber soles.
Parking: Paid parking is available nearby on Connor Street and Warner Street. Street parking is limited, so rideshare or public transport is recommended—particularly if you plan to enjoy a drink.
Age requirement: This event is strictly for guests aged 18 and over. Valid photo identification may be required.
Refunds and transfers: Tickets are non-refundable due to the limited event capacity. However, you may transfer your ticket to another guest if your plans change. Please contact us before the event so we can update the attendee details.
