We’re excited to share some big news…BTNEP’s Bayou Lafourche Cleanup is growing in 2026, and getting a new name! Please save the date for “BTNEP’s Bayou Cleanup” on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 8:30 to 11:30 am, in partnership with the Barataria-Terrebonne Estuary Foundation and Keep Terrebonne Beautiful, with assistance from Lafourche Parish Government and Assumption Parish Police Jury! This new name opens the door for expansion of our cleanups, allowing us to further spread BTNEP’s work and mission across the 4.2-million-acre expanse of the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary! While we’ll once again host our tried-and-true cleanup along the 106 miles of Bayou Lafourche, a BTNEP tradition since 2012, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re expanding into Terrebonne Parish for the first time ever! Thanks to our friends at Keep Terrebonne Beautiful, we’re adding cleanup sites along three additional bayous in Terrebonne Parish, growing our impact like never before.
Last year, over 500 volunteers removed more than 12 tons of trash, winning BTNEP the “2025 Love the Boot Outstanding Organization,” awarded by Keep Louisiana Beautiful and Lt. Governor Nungesser! This cleanup is also part of Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s #LovetheBoot week this year!
The DEADLINE for volunteers to REGISTER is Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Locations and registration links are below. Day-of details will be sent to volunteers ahead of the Cleanup by email.
**Limited sponsorship opportunities are available. These sponsorships are directed to the Cleanup in full and are used to pay for supplies and snacks for volunteers. The deadline to secure a sponsorship is Friday, March 27, 2026.**

4. Labadieville – Bayou Rowing, 2433 LA-308, Thibodaux
5. *Thibodaux (Fletcher) – EDW Historic Site, 2295 LA Hwy 1, Thibodaux
6. Downtown Thibodaux – The Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center, 314 St. Mary Street, Thibodaux
7. **Thibodaux (Nicholls) – Nicholls Bayouside, 906 E 1st St, Thibodaux
8. St. Charles Community (Thibodaux) – Melodia Boat Launch, 1628 Hwy 308, Thibodaux

*Bayou STEM, in partnership with Fletcher Technical Community College, is hosting a private site at the North Terrebonne Parish Library, open only to Bayou STEM and Fletcher faculty, staff, and students. Terrebonne Parish Library North Branch, 4130 W Park Ave., Gray
** Nicholls State University is hosting a private site across from the campus at the Nicholls Bayouside Pavilion, open only to Nicholls State University faculty, staff, and students. Only those with a valid nicholls.edu email address will be allowed to register.
*** Due to prior conflicts, the Bellevue Fire Station in Lockport will hold its Cleanup on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 8:30 am.5. EDW Historic Site (Fletcher + Bayou STEM ONLY) Site – Bayou STEM, in partnership with Fletcher Technical Community College, is hosting a private site at the EDW Historic Site open only to Bayou STEM and Fletcher faculty, staff, and students.
Participants in TERREBONNE PARISH can choose from the following sites along Terrebonne Parish Bayous:
1. Bayou Terrebonne (Downtown) – Downtown Marina – 8226 E Park Ave, Houma
