Share your passion for paddleboarding and introduce newcomers to the sport as a BSUPA Level 1 SUP Instructor.As an existing paddleboarder your skills will already be at demonstration level* and you will be competent on a range of boards with a minimum of 40 hrs SUP experience tucked under your belt.
The 2 day course based on and off the water covers:
- paddle skills
- safety
- group control
- general SUP knowledge
- equipment
- site & risk assessments
- teaching psychology
- weather
- tides
- rescue techniques
- teaching drills
Assessment comprises of both theory in terms of verbal presentation and written test and a practical on-the-water skills and teaching assessment.
Pre-requisites include:
- BSUPA membership
- Valid first aid qualification
- Minimum age 18yrs
- 40+hrs SUP experience
- Competent paddleboarder
