BSL Tour of 'Coming of Age' with Rubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq
About this Event
Join artist Rubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq for a Deaf-led tour of ‘The Coming of Age’ exhibition. Rubbena will guide you through the exhibition, focusing on selected objects and themes, such as adolescence, and the changing ways we experience age across different cultures and societies.
The tour will be delivered in British Sign Language (BSL) without voiceover or interpretation. You’ll be able to ask questions and share your views. All commentary and conversations will also be in BSL, with no interpretation.
About your guide
Rubbena Aurungzeb-Tariq is a Muslim Deaf female Pakistani-British artist based in London. Primarily a painter and installation artist, she also uses film and animation to explore the intersectionality of identities within her cultures and the dynamic nature of language and experience.
She has engaged with both deaf and hearing communities through leading art workshops and BSL tours for organisatiosn such as the Hayward Gallery, Wallace Collection, and The Kings Gallery. Rubbena has exhibited in New York, Washington DC, London, Paris, South Korea and Canada.

We’ll meet at the Information Point, which is on level 0, directly in front of you as you enter Wellcome Collection.
