The musical The Little Mermaid tells the story of Ariel, a young mermaid who desires to leave her underwater kingdom and experience life on land. She falls in love with a human prince and, defying her father, the King Triton, makes a deal with the Sea Witch Ursula to gain legs in exchange for her voice. She must then, within three days, win the prince’s love to regain her voice and return to her natural form.
