Join us for a not-to-be-missed evening with Rob McBride – The Tree Hunter.Over 13 years, Rob walked the 177-mile Offa’s Dyke path, recording hundreds of ancient trees for the Woodland Trust’s Ancient Tree Inventory — even dressing as historic walker Gary Hogg along the way!
A former software engineer, Rob’s journey began after being prescribed fresh air and exercise — leading to a life-changing passion for protecting Britain’s oldest trees. From the 3,000-year-old yew at Discoed to the legendary Oak at the Gate of the Dead near Chirk, his story is inspiring, moving and often very funny (“I must be a slow walker!”).
