Launching “Stagestruck” Classes for Youngsters and Teens
WHAT: Stagestruck Studio is a theatre and drama class for pre-teens and teens sponsored as part of the educational outreach of Brunswick Little Theatre.
WHO: Students ages 11 through 18.
WHY: Students’ creativity and imagination will be inspired as they experience drama games, improvisation, vocal development, stage movement, and scene study. Collaboration with fellow Stagestruck “players” will enhance their self-confidence and broaden their circle of friends with an interest in drama.
WHEN: The class will meet Monday evenings from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. Class will begin on Monday, September 8 and will run for nine consecutive Mondays, ending on November 3.
WHERE: Classes will take place in the Ryan Tewell Studio located at Brunswick Little Theatre, 8068 River Road in Southport.
HOW: The class will be offered for a minimum of 10 students to a maximum of 15. The fee is $180 and is payable to Brunswick Little Theatre. All fees go toward the operation of the theatre. Registration can be done online at brunswicklittletheatre.com and requires a $40 nonrefundable deposit. Fees can be paid online or by sending a check payable to Brunswick Little Theatre, PO Box 10625, Southport, NC. with Stagestruck in the memo line. Balance of the fee is due at the first class. Registration closes August 20. Some scholarships are available for eligible applicants.

Instructor Debbie Skillman holds both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in music and is a career educator who holds National Board certification as a music educator. She founded the Stagestruck Players with BLT in 2006 as a youth performance division.
