As the year draws to a close, we're coming together for one final BQM in 2026, and this one is all about community, connection and chosen family. Join us on Saturday 28th November, 12 noon to 6pm, as we once again take over the Village Inn and Nightingale Club for a day celebrating Birmingham's wonderfully diverse LGBTQIA+ and alternative communities.
Created in collaboration with the Village Inn and Nightingale Club, BQM is our quarterly market dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA+ creators, independent businesses and community organisations while creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive space to simply come as you are.
🛍️✨ TWO FLOORS OF TRADERS
Across two floors of banging independent traders, you'll find a marketplace packed with queer, alternative and wonderfully unusual creators. Expect everything from alternative fashion, LGBTQIA+ art and literature to leatherwork, jewellery, gothic goodies, curiosities and plenty more. And for those wanting something a little more Quinky, BQM is home to some fabulous traders focused on pleasure, kink and products made for every body.
Both floors are accessible by Lift and stairs, so take your time, explore and support some incredible independent makers while finding something that makes your heart sing and your body do a little happy dance.
🌈🧶 THE CONNECTION ZONE
Our Connection Zone is a relaxed space to socialise, create, learn and meet people within the community. Pull up a chair, make yourself a friendship bracelet, have a chat or explore our community resource tables, including:
* Local LGBTQIA+ history
* Services and support information
* Friendship bracelet making
* Sexual health resources
* Community organisations and information
No pressure to buy anything, no pressure to be anything. You're welcome to simply come and spend some time with us.
❄️💖 A WINTER CELEBRATION OF CHOSEN FAMILY
As we head towards the end of the year and that loved/dreaded word ‘Christmas’, a time of year that can mean very different things to different people, The Radical Celebrant will be joining us for a special winter celebration of chosen family and community.
A moment to celebrate the people we have found, the families we have created, and the community that stands around us.
Whether this time of year means gathering with relatives, spending it with chosen family, creating your own traditions or simply getting through the season in whatever way feels right for you, we want BQM to be a reminder that there is community here for you.
