Bruichladdich Distillery (pronounced "bruukh-LAD-ee"), located on Scotland’s island of Islay, is known for two things: producing the world’s most heavily peated whisky AND for making one of the few NON-peated Islay whiskies.
We’re focusing on that NON-peated whisky, the Classic Laddie. Even if you haven’t tasted it, you’ve probably since the iconic turquoise bottle on bars and store shelves before. It’s a beautiful whisky, with fruity, floral, and coastal notes.
The Classic Laddie is made up of several whisky casks blended together to create the perfect flavor and texture notes. In fact, it’s one of the most demanding and difficult responsibilities the Head Distiller, Adam Hannett, has to tackle.
And we’re going to taste several casks that make up the Classic Laddie! This deconstructed tasting is brand new and we’re one of the first groups to experience it!
We’ll taste 5-6 whiskies and have charcuterie to munch on. Since the individual casks aren’t released, we can only give you the tasting notes for the Classic Laddie: on the nose are notes are freshly cut wild flowers, caramelized fruit, hints of lemon drops, with honey and tangerine. On the palate are notes of sweet oak and barley with ripe green fruits, brown sugar and sweet malt.
Bruichladdich Brand Ambassador Devin Vilardi will be there to guide us through the tasting and answer all our questions. And $20 of your ticket goes towards a bottle of Bruichladdich* at Warehouse Liquors!
