A burial-at-sea procession for Bruce Cheves will begin at 6:00 p.m. on May 30, 2026, led by the vessel American Spirit. Boaters wishing to participate are invited to follow the American Spirit during the procession. Following the ceremony, A.J.’s Seafood & Oyster Bar will host a memorial reception in the Jumbotron Courtyard. Legacy & Donations :
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Destin History & Fishing Museum in Bruce Cheves’s memory to help establish a permanent tribute by renaming the Rodeo Room the “Bruce Cheves Rodeo Room.”
