Chris and Dan Brubeck have been making music together for a lifetime – literally! The sons of jazz icon Dave Brubeck, drummer Dan and bassist/trombonist/composer Chris cut their first record together in 1966 and have been forging their own musical path ever since. Together with guitarist Mike DeMicco and pianist Chuck Lamb, they form the Brubeck Brothers Quartet (BBQ)—a powerhouse ensemble known for dynamic interplay, rich improvisation, and deep musical chemistry.
Touring extensively across North America and Europe, the Quartet has captivated audiences at major jazz festivals and concert halls including Newport, Detroit, Montreal, the Hollywood Bowl, and Monterey. Their latest album TimeLine—a tribute to Dave Brubeck’s groundbreaking 1958 State Department tour—received wide critical acclaim and sustained radio success, with All About Jazz calling it “an exciting ride… a seasoned and well-oiled musical unit.”
Beyond jazz stages, the Brubeck Brothers regularly collaborate with orchestras worldwide, bringing Chris Brubeck’s original compositions to life with ensembles like the Philadelphia Orchestra, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, and even the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra in 2016.
The Quartet will also be hosting a free Masterclass Workshop for local band students at the Gerold Opera house on Sunday, April 26th. This will be a once in a lifetime experience for these students, and your support through tickets sales will help to make this workshop possible.
Seating is cabaret style with reserved tables for 2, 4 and 8. There is also general seating at the rear and in the balcony. Tickets are $35-$60
The Gerold Opera House features a full bar and also offers a light menu from their kitchen.
