Tervetuloa kuulemaan tunnelmallisessa kynttilänvalossa musiikkia, joka on liittynyt avioelämään ja kotimusisointiin.
J.S. Bachin toisen vaimon, Anna Magdalena Bachin nuottikirja vuodelta 1725 on kokoelma kosketinsoitinsooloja ja lauluja, jotka Bachin perheenjäsenet yhdessä keräsivät. On todennäköistä, että Bachin perhe soitti ja lauloi kirjan ohjelmistoa kotonaan.
1730-luvun puolivälissä Leipzigissa, aivan muutaman korttelin päässä Bacheista, asuivat professori Johann Christoph Gottsched ja tämän vaimo Luise. Luise oli taitava kirjoittaja ja luutisti, ja opiskeli myös sävellystä. Luise Gottsched sävelsi nyt konsertissa kuultavan kantaatin mahdollisesti omiin häihinsä tai ainakin aivan avioliiton alkuvuosina.
Suomalaista väriä ohjelmaan tuo muutama laulu Ulrica Elisabet Tauben nuottikirjasta (1767 – n.1772), joka toimi teini-ikäisen Ulrican oppikirjana musiikkiopinnoissa. Laadukasta musiikkikoulutusta pidettiin tuohon aikaan nuorelle aatelistytölle tärkeänä, jotta voisi päästä hyviin naimisiin.

Welcome to an atmospheric candlelit concert of music connected with married life and music-making at home.
The 1725 Notebook of Anna Magdalena Bach, J. S. Bach’s second wife, is a collection of keyboard solos and songs gathered together by members of the Bach family. It is likely that the Bach family played and sang the repertoire from the book in their own home.
In the mid-1730s, just a few blocks away from the Bachs in Leipzig, lived Professor Johann Christoph Gottsched and his wife Luise. Luise was a gifted writer and lutenist, and also studied composition. The cantata by Luise Gottsched heard in this concert may have been composed for her own wedding, or at least during the early years of her marriage.
A Finnish touch is brought to the programme by a few songs from the notebook of Ulrica Elisabet Taube (1767–c. 1772), which served as the teenage Ulrica’s textbook in her musical studies. At the time, a high-quality musical education was considered important for a young noblewoman, helping her prospects of making a good marriage.
