Join us for a portrayal of Abigail Adams, wife of John Adams, the second President of the United States, performed by Jessica Michna. After John Adams lost the presidential election to Thomas Jefferson in 1800, he and Abigail returned to their farm in Massachusetts. Looking back after forty years of marriage, Abigail reflects on her early years as a young wife and mother.
Drawing on the many letters exchanged between the Adams; she recalls a time of revolution and uncertainty. She also remembers the friendships she formed in France and England while serving as a diplomat’s wife. Mrs. Adams vividly brings to life the early days of Washington, D.C., as viewed from the windows of the unfinished White House.
