The Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives’ Brown Bag Lunch Series welcomes Ed Gulick to present about how to utilize historic tax credits for the rehabilitation of historic buildings.
Owners of historic buildings, take heart. Ed Gulick of High Plains Architects will explain why the popular refrain that “it would be cheaper to demolish and build new than to renovate a historic building” is almost never true. In fact, a properly designed and executed historic rehabilitation project can actually bring funds to a project in the form of Historic Tax Credits, which are worth 25% of the total project costs. Come hear about how Historic Tax Credits work and what the best practices in rehabilitating historic buildings are.
The Brown Bag presentation will begin at noon on Wednesday, October 14th, 2026, and will last about an hour. The presentation will be held in the auditorium at the Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives, located at 17 W. Quartz Street. Guests are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Coffee and water will be provided.
Brown Bag Lunches are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month. Upcoming lectures will focus on topics of local interest. For more information, contact the Archives at (406)782-3280.
