Embark on an extraordinary journey with DownsSteam as we proudly present our "Brookstead Bound" steam train excursion! Departing from our Toowoomba Railway station, prepare to be transported back in time as we traverse the breathtaking landscapes of grain and sunflower country enroute to the charming town of Brookstead. Experience the nostalgia of the olden days as the train is hauled by one our steam locomotives which sets the pace for an unforgettable adventure. As we meander through rolling fields and golden plains, immerse yourself in the beauty of the countryside and the timeless allure of steam travel.
On arrival in the rural town of Brookstead, under the shadow of towering operational grain silos, passengers will detrain and board one of two heritage buses that will transport you to the Brookstead Community Hall where the Brooky Camp Oven Team will have an authentic camp oven meal prepared consisting of Shepherd’s Pie, Beef Stew and Lamb Curry with Damper. Sweets will be Apple Crumble served with tea and coffee. Soft drinks and beer will be available for sale.
The fabulous Pittsworth U3A Ukulele Group will be performing their joyful and fun music at the Brookstead Community Hall over lunch.
A special addition to the day will be a small collection of treasured vintage vehicles on display.
