About this Event
Join us to celebrate and create community on the Foodway and Bronx river. Learn about plants, foraging, herbal medicine, the history & community fight in Concrete Park along with future visions of the Bronx River.
10a Join Journei Bimwala to learn about wild foraging, plant identification, and how to be in reciprocity with our food ecosystem. Journei is a clinical herbalist, foraging practitioner, and educator who has been teaching communities how to identify edible and medicinal plants since 2014 across New York City and the tri-state area. She is a founding member of the Bronx River Foodway and an invaluable voice for food sovereignty, self empowerment and alternative pathways of abundance.

11a Join Holes in the Wall Collective in person for the scavenger hunt, guiding you through the history of Concrete Plant Park and the visions of the future.
12p Live offering from world renowned spoken word artist La Bruja in collective thanks to the waters, trees, plants and people. Caridad De la Luz, aka LA BRUJA, is an Emmy-winning poet, indigenous activist, Bronx living legend and current Executive Director of the Nuyorican Poets Cafe.
We will be joined by chef Nadia Ketoure for a small shared feast.
