History
Brodhead Manor in Brodhead is a historic school building with roots stretching back to 1896, when the community first funded its construction to support local education. As the town grew, the original structure was replaced in 1907 with a larger brick building, later expanded in 1939 to nearly 60,000 square feet.

By 1969, the building transitioned into a middle school, serving students through ninth grade until its closure in 1996. It then sat abandoned for over two decades, its halls left empty and untouched.

In 2018, the building was revived as “Brodhead Manor,” first operating as a haunted attraction before opening its doors to paranormal investigators. Today, owner Bill Wolter continues restoring the property while preserving its place in the community.

The location has been featured on Everything Vaguely Paranormal, in Expedition Entity, and investigated by Nick Simons and Aaron G. Thompson from 28 Days Haunted.

Paranormal Findings
The activity inside Brodhead Manor is consistent, intelligent, and often immediate.

Our team has experienced disembodied voices, loud knocks and crashes, objects moving and being thrown, shadow figures, and full-bodied apparitions. Physical encounters, including being touched or grabbed, have also been reported, along with clear poltergeist activity.

This is not residual. The presence here responds.

Known spirits include Elizabeth, a young girl who interacts through play, Norman, another child spirit, and John, a former janitor who is protective of certain areas like the boiler room. The building’s first principal, Carl Pfisterer, is believed to still roam his office, while a spirit known as Sam is connected to the school’s athletic history. Two elemental presences are also said to occupy opposite ends of the building, along with many unnamed spirits.

Nearly all investigation equipment used here has produced direct, intelligent responses, including Spirit Boxes, REM Pods, Estes Method sessions, Ovilus devices, and more.

The Experience
This public investigation gives you full access to one of the most active locations we’ve worked.

Guests will be guided through the building, shown key hotspots, and taught how to use paranormal equipment. You’ll have access to our gear and are encouraged to bring your own.

VIP weekend passes (September 25th through 27th) include over 40 hours of access, sleeping areas inside the building, and additional exclusive investigation time. Saturday night will also feature a karaoke event with Bill Wolter, also known as Sir Sexy.

Info: All attendees will be checked in and given a tour of the entire building, given history of the building, as well as shown how to operate equipment and where "hotspots" are located.

Info: For the remainder of the time, attendees will be allowed to go with experienced investigators, wander off alone, or with their groups to investigate. We will have group opportunities to participate in experiments throughout the night.
