Soprano, Charlene Canty joins with Pianist, Ellen Fast in this beautiful concert, "Women's Voices: Music of Ned Rorem and Florence Price.
Soprano, Charlene Canty is an acclaimed performer of opera and sacred works, appearing in major roles such as Don Giovanni, Norma, Porgy & Bess, Le Nozze di Figaro, and La Bohème, and she has been featured in choral masterworks from Bach to Verdi. She has performed with organizations including Pittsburgh Opera, Resonance Works, and the Pittsburgh Camerata, and her recitals have been broadcast on WQED-FM. A winner of the Pittsburgh Concert Society Major Auditions, she is also a two-time scholarship recipient of the Ezio Pinza Council for American Singers of Opera. Pianist, Ellen Fast, a collaborative artist and founder of the Jade Piano Trio, is a sought-after accompanist and performer with ensembles such as the Pittsburgh Camerata, Voces Solis, and the Chancel Choir of Shadyside Presbyterian Church, and holds degrees in collaborative piano from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Goshen College.
