Britten Sinfonia: Opus 1 Composer Showcase

The Painted Church is excited to host for a second year Britten Sinfonia's Opus 1 Showcase Concert.

Britten Sinfonia have selected the eight composers for Opus 1, 2024, who will write new works for a trio of either oboe, cello and percussion; or piccolo, trombone and harp. During the summer, the composers will take part in workshops, coaching, and professional recording sessions, and will have their works premiered in this showcase concert on 21st September at the Painted Church, Cambridge.

This year, the composers will be supported and mentored by Programme Directors Raymond Yiu and Cheryl Frances-Hoad. The selected composers are: Matthew Elderton-Lewis, Sam Greening, Lucy Holmes, Chris Kirkham, Joe Mathawaphan, Vishak Ramaprasad, Harry Rees and Caroline Tyler
