Fact!
The name "Auchenflower" has a distinctly Scottish origin. It is derived from the Gaelic words "achadh" (meaning field) and "flรนr" (meaning flower), which together can be translated as "field of flowers." The area was named by Thomas McIlwraith, a Scottish-born premier of Queensland in the late 19th century, who had a property in the area and named it after Auchenflower House, his family estate in Scotland.
