Please note - if you are at all able (and I know for many reasons this may not be possible) please bring a sling or baby carrier rather than buggy as there are a couple of very small elevators to navigate which will only take one buggy. Thank you for your understanding!

Info: - Where the names Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs originate.
- What remains of the Georgian Docks - where they counted the money and stored the rum.
- The empty plinth reminding us of the link between the goods coming into the docks and the enslaved people of the West Indies.
- The tube station that could fit in a tower.
- The history from the devastation of the bombings of World War II through the developments of the 1980s which turned the industrialised docks into a ‘cathedral of commerce’.
- The transport - the driverless Docklands Light Railway to the gleaming Elizabeth Line.
- The public art.
- And how much of it all is built on water.

Walk starts
Info: Montgomery Square, E14 5GX (direct lift from Canary Wharf Jubilee Line station). Between Bank Street and Montgomery Street. There are benches and coffee places.

Lunch stop
Info: Halfway stop at Market Halls, North Colonnade. (There are other options including Wahaca and Shake Shack within yards.) At this time you will be given an hour to change baby and get something to eat and drink before meeting your guide back at a given meeting point to resume the walk.
