This program will teach why and how to incorporate native plants into your outdoor space and provide specific suggestions to attract butterflies, bees, hummingbirds & other birds. You will get tips to keep your native garden tidy enough to blend into any landscape style. Even if you are not ready to create your own garden, you will gain a new appreciation of the value of landscaping with natives in public areas. Whether you have been gardening for decades or have a budding interest, you will learn something new to enrich your outdoor experiences!Presenter Lisa Denys has two lifelong passions: gardening and observing wildlife interactions. She earned a B.S. at Eastern Michigan University in 2010, studying everything from botany to bats. In 2014, while seeking to attract butterflies to her small suburban yard, Lisa gained a new understanding of the power of native plants. In March of this year, she co-founded a new Wild Ones chapter in Wayne County, Michigan, to connect more community members to the rewarding experience of native landscaping and to help wildlife.
