Brighton Street Art Fair | 3rd Annual Event
Located along Main Street in the heart of downtown Brighton, the Brighton Street Art Fair brings together artists from across Michigan and the Midwest, showcasing original works in jewelry, ceramics, painting, glass, photography, fiber, mixed media, and more. Every artist is selected through a competitive jury process, ensuring a high-quality fine art experience for collectors and visitors alike.
This year's featured artwork was created by Michelle Detering of Lansing, Michigan. Known for her vibrant watercolor paintings inspired by nature and wildlife, Detering returns after exhibiting at the 2025 Brighton Street Art Fair and will once again present her original artwork throughout the weekend.
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the work of an outstanding lineup of local and regional artists. Returning to the Brighton Street Art Fair this year are Leslie Krist (ceramics; Rogers City, Mich.), Joseph Cyberski (jewelry; Dexter, Mich.), and Paul Fletcher (painting and sculpture; Westlake, Ohio), each showcasing new original work.
The Guild is also pleased to welcome several artists making their Brighton Street Art Fair debut, including Brian Westrick (ceramics; Dowagiac, Mich.), Cheryl Baker (digital art; Davisburg, Mich.), and the glass artistry team of Chad Ackley and Derek Smiertka (glass; Ortonville, Mich.). Together, these returning favorites and first-time exhibitors represent the exceptional quality and diverse range of artwork visitors can expect throughout the weekend.
The festival offers much more than exceptional artwork.
Throughout the weekend, the Brighton Art Guild will host free hands-on art activities for children and families. Live music will fill the Brighton Mill Pond bandshell, with performances throughout the weekend including Live at Millpond Park - Brighton’s premier outdoor concert series presented by the City of Brighton DDA and Pulte Homes featuring Kari Holmes, Saturday from 5-7:30 in the Amp.
New this year, the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce will present the Kids Art Fair, sponsored by MSU Federal Credit Union, on Saturday, August 22. Young artists from across the region will have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their own original artwork, giving visitors a chance to support the next generation of creative talent.
The festival's downtown setting also allows visitors to enjoy Brighton's vibrant dining and shopping scene. Restaurants along Main Street and Grand River Avenue—including favorites such as El Arbol Taqueria and The Reserve Steakhouse—will offer outdoor service and convenient dining options throughout the event. Guests 21 and older can also take advantage of Brighton's Social District by purchasing beverages from participating establishments to enjoy while exploring the fair.
"We're excited to continue our partnership with the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce as the Brighton Street Art Fair grows into a signature summer tradition," said Karen Delhey, Executive Director of The Guild of Artists & Artisans. "The enthusiasm from the community has been incredible, and we're proud to bring outstanding artists, engaging family activities, and vibrant entertainment to downtown Brighton while supporting local businesses and creating a memorable experience for visitors of all ages."
The Brighton Street Art Fair is free to attend and welcomes art enthusiasts, families, and visitors to experience a weekend of creativity, community, shopping, dining, and live entertainment in one of southeast Michigan's most charming downtowns.
