Hey Brighton and beyond! Are you looking to level up your Lindy? Wanting to boost your swing out game? Bring some fire to the floor? Katie and Marcus wanna share their knowledge and experience with you. We will be going over some fundamental technique, helping inspire your creativity and building your confidence in your dancing.
Katie Cobalt (She/They) tried many different dance styles before falling in love with Swing. The freedom of improvisation, the satisfaction of rhythm and the deep historical and Black cultural roots of the dance made her want to learn more. She is now known for her classroom energy, musicality, and infectious enthusiasm for all things Jazz. As a teacher, she focuses on individually helping her students on their own dance journeys and finds so much joy in seeing them grow.
Marcus Burnell-Spector (He/They) has been obsessed with swing dance since 2019. He regularly travels abroad to learn from as wide a range of teachers as possible: refining his technique in both dancing and teaching. He likes to use dance vocabulary to illustrate technical points of connection and musicality. For him, the best part of teaching is sharing the joy he felt in his own learning.
