Deemed “a fine singer with guitar work reminiscent of the cult hero Nick Drake” by The New York Times, Andrea von Kampen is a singer-songwriter known for her captivating melodies, intricate guitar work, and deeply introspective storytelling.

After releasing a series of EPs, von Kampen made her full-length debut with Old Country (2019), followed by That Spell (2021) on Fantasy Records—albums that cemented her reputation as a thoughtful, literate songwriter with a gentle but commanding presence. Her music rewards close listening, unfolding with emotional clarity and poetic detail.

In 2022, von Kampen expanded her creative reach with her acting debut in the independent film A Chance Encounter, for which she also wrote and recorded the original soundtrack. The project highlighted her ability to tell stories across mediums, blending narrative, melody, and atmosphere with quiet confidence.

A seasoned and widely respected touring artist, von Kampen has shared stages with The Tallest Man on Earth, Watchhouse, Punch Brothers, The Wood Brothers, Bonny Light Horseman, Darlingside, and many more, and has appeared at festivals including Newport Folk Festival and Rocky Mountain Folks Festival.

Most recently, she returned to an independent approach while creating her third full-length album, Sister Moon, recorded in winter 2023 by Ben Brodin (Conor Oberst, Justin Townes Earle, First Aid Kit) and arranged by her brother David von Kampen. The album explores themes of climate change, the interconnectedness of nature, and the literary world of Richard Powers, offering songs that feel both intimate and expansive.
