Sweden’s FRÄNDER blends Scandinavian and Baltic musical traditions with global folk-rock sensibilities, creating contemporary arrangements that feel both ancient and electrifyingly new. With seductive harmonies, heavy grooves, and a mesmerizing stage presence, FRÄNDER stands among the Nordic countries’ top roots music bands.

Influenced by first-generation Nordic folk rock pioneers like Hedningarna, Garmarna, and Hoven Droven—as well as by Led Zeppelin, Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull, and Steeleye Span—FRÄNDER is rooted in heritage but driven by a bold, modern creative spirit.

Even while performing exclusively on acoustic instruments, the band plays with the raw power and energy of a rock group. Their music is deeply tied to where they come from: the landscapes, legends, folklore, and ancient stories of Sweden and Estonia. FRÄNDER’s concerts often weave tales of their homeland—the forests and lakes near the old Viking stronghold of Håga, the cultural history they grew up in, and the myths that continue to breathe life into their sound.

Natasja Dluzewska – fiddle

Säde Tatar – flutes (from Estonia, and Gabbi’s wife)
