The Firehouse Presents "Brigade" A Tribute to Heart again. Because last time it was just that amazing!
Brigade is a high-energy Heart tribute band from Edmonton. From her sheer love of the band Heart, lead singer Dahlia Wakefield formed Brigade in 2018. This talented group of musicians faithfully perform over three decades of their classic rock hits, including favorites like "Alone" and "Barracuda". Known for their dynamic performances, attention to detail and tight harmonies (as Karen and Dahlia have been singing together for over 13 years), Brigade has garnered rave reviews and a strong following in just a few years, playing their Heart out for audiences across Alberta!
Who makes Brigade?
DAHLIA WAKEFIELD ("Ann Wilson" - Lead Vocals) An award-winning Edmonton-based singer and bandleader of various bands, Dahlia has recorded multiple solo albums and singles, including with Dirt Road Angels. She is known for her exceptional talent and has performed with legendary Canadian rock band "Toronto." Graduating with distinction from Grant MacEwan University's music program, Dahlia is a passionate vocal coach and musician dedicated to a lifetime of making music.
KAREN CLAYPOOL ("Nancy Wilson" - Backup Vocals, Rhythm Guitar) Karen, passionate about music since childhood, has released multiple albums with Dirt Road Angels. Her energetic stage presence and dedication have led to performances at prestigious events both as a solo artist and with many other groups. A talented singer-songwriter and guitar player, Karen brings her unique charm and charisma to her music, even though she wasn't around during the original Heart releases.
GLENN THORPE (Lead Guitar) Glenn Thorpe is his name and lead guitar is his game. As Brigade’s laser precise lead axe man, Glenn brings a lifetime of playing music to this band. He’s always had a creative side and graduated from Grant MacEwan University with a diploma in music by the age of 20 and proceeded to play/record cover and original music with many bands playing various genres.
STAN PIETRUSIK (Keyboards, Backup Vocals) Stan, the musical director for Brigade, has a vast experience playing keys in various local bands like Blackwater Jack, Souled Out, and more. He often fills in with "Prism" and showcased his acting in "Fubar 2: Balls to the Wall." Stan is dedicated and passionate about his craft, pouring his heart into all his endeavors.
DENNIS BOISVERT (Drums) Dennis Boisvert is a country/rock drummer from Morinville, Alberta. As co-founder and drummer for the band Cadillac Junkies, he has played with artists such as Sweet Tequila, Lisa Hewitt, Matthews Grin, Karac Hendricks, Dirt Road Angels, Tyler Babiuk, Brad Sims, and Ben Chase to only name a few. He is also a member of avant-garde group Aud Squad.
BEN OSWELL (Bass) Ben Oswell is freelance bassist from Lloydminster, SK. Since graduating from the Grant MacEwan music program, Ben has worked with a multitude of artists in different styles including rock, country, classical, jazz, funk, ska and reggae. Ben currently plays bass with Tyler Babiuk and has also performed with Cadillac Junkies, Dirt Road Angels and occasionally fills in for Dahlia & The Villains.
Opening for Brigade, the incredibly talented Gil Tougas. Gil is a seasoned singer, songwriter, and guitarist, has been captivating live audiences for years. He will set the stage for a memorable night of music with Brigade.
