About this Event

Featuring:

  • [Moderator] Kent Chandler, Resident Senior Fellow, Energy and Environmental Policy, R Street Institute
  • Jeff Dennis, Executive Director, Electricity Customer Alliance

Meeting America’s rising electricity demand requires more than just new generation—it also requires a modernized transmission system capable of moving power where it’s needed most. Today, transmission development faces major challenges. From siting and cost allocation disputes to a lack of interregional planning, consumers are vulnerable to reliability risks and higher costs.

This third and final session of our Preparing for Energy Load Growth series will explore how Congress can address this bottleneck. Experts will examine the economics and politics of transmission—including regional divides and federal-state tensions—and the role of federal government. The conversation will also highlight what bipartisan reforms could help build a more resilient and affordable grid.

Join us for a discussion on how transmission reform can advance the infrastructure needed to meet America’s growing electricity demand.
