About this Event
Join us for a transformative event connecting students to workforce opportunities in Construction and Health Care.
The County of Los Angeles continues to face significant challenges related to economic instability, social unrest, and community trauma. In response, our initiative seeks to provide safe spaces where residents and students can access workforce development opportunities and emotional support grounded in trauma-informed care.
Partnerships are central to our approach. By aligning with workforce agencies, employers, and service providers, we can meet residents and students where they are and guide them toward stability, employment, and empowerment. Our ultimate goal is to cultivate sustainable pathways to self-sufficiency and community resilience.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:
• Inspirational Keynote by Dr. James M. Thomas: Emphasizing perseverance, lifelong learning, and the power of preparation.
• America's Job Center of California (AJCC): Providing information about workforce development services, including participant stipends, professional clothing assistance, transportation support, and interview coaching.
• Employer Engagement: Sharing current hiring opportunities and helping attendees explore viable career paths.
• Training Organizations: Offering insights into skill-building programs that prepare residents for sustainable employment.
• Transportation Access: Metro representatives will introduce TAP Cards available for up to six months, reducing transportation barriers.
