About this Event
Bridging the Health Equity Gap: Empowering Our Community to Improve Health Outcomes Through Self-Advocacy
đź“… Date: Saturday, October 18, 2025
📍 Location: Fountain Baptist Church, Summit, NJ
The Central Jersey Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. invites you to our inaugural Health Equity Forum — “Bridging the Health Equity Gap”. This community-centered event will explore health conditions that disproportionately impact communities of color and provide practical strategies for self-advocacy in healthcare settings.
Why Attend?
Racial disparities in healthcare remain a pressing issue. People of color face higher rates of diabetes, hypertension, renal failure, and maternal/infant mortality compared to other ethnicities. By equipping our community with knowledge and tools for self-advocacy, we can move closer to a fairer, more equitable healthcare system.
What to Expect
- Expert Panels – Hear from healthcare professionals, patient advocates, and community leaders.
- Real-World Insights – Learn what self-advocacy looks like when working with physicians and navigating healthcare systems.
- Practical Guidance – Gain strategies to improve personal and family health outcomes.
- Health Related Vendors - meet organizations and companies who have health related resources.
Who Should Attend
This event is open to anyone interested in improving health outcomes in our community.
Our Goal
To empower individuals to become their own best advocates—helping close the health equity gap and ensure quality, accessible care for all.
