Bridges to Flourishing - Workshop for Parents
About this Event
As children transition from secondary or post-secondary education into the next stage of their lives, they encounter exciting opportunities alongside new challenges. Whether entering higher education, vocational training, National Service, or the workforce, these transitions often bring uncertainty, increased responsibilities, and heightened expectations.
Parents play a critical role during this period of change. The ability to provide emotional support, communicate effectively, and foster resilience can significantly influence a young person’s confidence, wellbeing, and capacity to adapt successfully.
This two-part interactive and experiential program is designed to equip parents with practical knowledge and skills to better support your children through life transitions.
Parents will learn to:
• Understand the emotional and developmental challenges that youths commonly face during periods of change
• Recognise how thoughts, emotions, and stress responses influence behaviour and decision-making
• Apply strategies to nurture resilience, confidence, and adaptability in their children
• Communicate in ways that strengthen trust, connection, and mutual understanding
• Support your children in managing setbacks, uncertainty, and emerging responsibilities
Through guided discussions, experiential activities, practical tools, and shared learning, parents will gain greater insight into their children’s experiences and develop effective approaches to supporting their growth.
The program aims to strengthen parent-child relationships and create a supportive environment that enables youths to navigate life’s transitions with confidence and resilience.
This program complements youth-focused interventions by empowering parents to become effective partners in your children’s journey towards independence, wellbeing, and future success.
