Brick Street Ramblers @ the Iowa City Farmers Market

On September 5, from 9 a.m. to noon, the Brick Street Ramblers will be cooking up early jazz at the Iowa City Farmers’ Market—the perfect soundtrack for shopping with a full tote and an open ear. Their menu features hot New Orleans–style jazz from the days of 78s and straw boaters, just starting to simmer toward swing. This eight-piece band brings trumpet, trombone, clarinet, tenor sax, banjo, and sousaphone together for a sound that’s fresh-picked and well seasoned.
