Since there is an ample supply of native clay at Garden #3 John has decided to use this resource. Lets make some bricks! A really inspirational video can be seen here.....

This low tech design for making and firing bricks seems very doable. Lets explore this together. In Part 1 we will make the clay bricks and lay them out to dry. This entails wetting the clay and stomping in some sand with our feet. We can experiment with different recipes and proportions too. In Part 2 we will fire those bricks in the simple wood fired kiln. You are welcome to make a brick for yourself, stamp your name, initials or special text onto it. This will be really fun and it would be fabulous to make this a regular occurrence. Maybe we can make tiles too. This low fire clay is free and plentiful. Lets explore together. This event is free, with the hope that you help make a few bricks beyond the ones you take home.
