Purpose
At DNNC Steps to Success, we are committed to providing social support and financial literacy to ensure successful outcomes for participants. Our program empowers and nurtures the growth and development of underserved women, with a special emphasis on African American single parents. Through mentorship, mental wellness resources, vocational training in cosmetology, and pathways to thriving-wage employment, we create positive, sustainable change for both participants and their children.

This year, instead of hosting a large gala, we are focused on raising funds through an entertaining and impactful family night featuring Brian Copeland’s one-man play. Our fundraising efforts support initiatives that work to prevent homelessness, poverty, poor health, and crime, ultimately reshaping the future for families and communities. By prioritizing prevention, we aim to change the trajectory of womens' lives for a better tomorrow.

DNNC Steps to Success is seeking sponsorships to uplift and support the amazing women and single mothers in our program.

Funds will be raised by selling seats to the Brian Copeland play The Jewelry Box held at the San Leandro Public Library theater.

We will serve heavy hors d'oeuvres replacing the need for dinner and your sponsorship will assist us with childcare.

DNNC Steps to Success is a program that works in partnership with Delane’s Nail Care to empower and nurture the growth and development of underserved women with an emphasis on African American single parents by introducing participants to social skills, mental wellness, vocational training in cosmetology, mentorship, and thriving-wage employment to affect a positive change in both their lives and that of their children. Taking these systemic and preventive measures helps to change the trajectory of families' lives for a better futur
