About this Event
In collaboration with Daku, Projects Art Factory proudly presents "Brewed Expressions", a 3-months group exhibition in support of the Felix Project. The show delves into the rich and multifaceted relationship between coffee and daily life, interpreted through the works of five talented mixed media artists. This exhibition transforms the familiar ritual of coffee into a compelling exploration of culture, connection, and creativity.
Exhibition Theme:
"Brewed Expressions" is a celebration of coffee as a muse and its integral role in the rhythm of everyday life. The exhibition, hosted in Daku - a coffee shop, merges the boundary between art and the ordinary, creating an immersive experience where the ritual of coffee and the act of viewing art intertwine. As visitors sip their coffee and explore the artworks, they are encouraged to reconsider the significance of this seemingly simple daily ritual, reflecting on the stories, cultures, and connections it represents.
This diverse collection showcases the wide-ranging artistic interpretations of coffee—from its social, global, and cultural significance to its intimate, contemplative moments. Whether ritualistic or casual, coffee in "Brewed Expressions" emerges as a symbol of inspiration and human connection woven into the fabric of daily life.

About the Charity
The Felix Project believes in a vision of London where no-one goes hungry and good food is never wasted. And together, we believe we can win the fight against food waste and hunger in London. We rescue good, surplus food from the food industry that cannot be sold and would otherwise go to waste and deliver it to hundreds of food banks, charities, primary schools and holiday programmes in London.
Featured Artists
- Kuda Mushangi
Born in 1995 and based in London, award-winning artist and architect Kuda Mushangi brings a distinctive fusion of figurative and abstract art. A Master of Architecture graduate from the University of Liverpool, his career gained momentum when he was featured as a rising artist by Tate Modern in 2020. His work, celebrated for its narrative depth and allegorical layers, delves into universal emotions like joy, loneliness, and self-doubt. Mushangi’s autobiographical approach transforms solitary figures into profound emotional landscapes, inviting viewers to engage with both the familiar and enigmatic aspects of human existence.
- Silviya Georgieva – Sellvida
Educated in Bulgaria, where she studied textiles and graphic design, Silviya Georgieva's vibrant art embodies the essence of modern urban life. Living and working in London, her primary medium is collage, though her repertoire includes watercolors, pastels, and abstracts. Her works are characterized by a playful use of patterns, textures, and colors, creating dynamic and uplifting representations of urban scenes. Sellvida’s compositions are rich with narrative and infused with positive emotions, reflecting her belief in art’s ability to capture the beauty and sensuality of today’s culture. Her works have been featured in The Washington Post and Sky Art.
- Sophia Dobreva - Nolita is a Bulgarian multidisciplinary artist based in Manchester, UK. She works in the field of painting, illustration and graphic design. As a chronic traveler through cities and countries, Sophia captures fragments of dreams, fears, and everyday anxiety while facing the question of one’s place in the world. Feminism and the clash between tradition and the unorthodox are ever-present topics for her. Her visual language is influenced by tribal and naive art. For her painting work, Sophia relies on the power of absolute colour, bold volumes, and reaching global themes through intimate experiences. After taking part in multiple group exhibitions, Sophia had her first solo show titled Bluebirds in Manchester in February 2023. The following year, due to the positive reception and reviews, Bluebirds was exhibited in One Gallery in Sofia, Bulgaria, and Flora Burgas, Bulgaria.
- Jolene Liam
Jolene Liam is a London-based multidisciplinary artist from Singapore. With a background in architecture, Liam’s art reflects her interest in how the spaces we inhabit and the objects we collect express our identities. She explores the "in-between" and "not quite" spaces, using unconventional methods such as drawing with string and painting on the back of canvases. This experimental approach blurs the boundaries between drawing and sculpture. Currently, Liam is part of the Off-Site Programme at Turps Art School and has been shortlisted for awards like the Derwent Art Prize and the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize. Her works explore ideas of home, nature, and identity through architectural and experimental lenses.
- Freddie Jackson
Freddie Jackson, an architect from North Yorkshire, rediscovered painting this year after a long hiatus. Using digital tools like his iPad mini, he translates personal experiences, memories, and emotions into art. His deeply personal works often feature loved ones and places he has visited, serving as a means to process grief and personal loss. Jackson's exploration of self, time, and memory through his art captures the fleeting, intimate moments that define our existence.
