Brett Burkinshaw was a Newburyport Firefighter and Reserve Police Officer who passed away in 2021 after a long battle with brain cancer. He was a lifelong resident of the North Shore who never thought twice about helping those in need. In his honor, his family and friends have started a college scholarship fund. For the fourth consecutive year, NBPT Cornhole will be hosting a cornhole tournament to benefit The Brett Burkinshaw Memorial Scholarship Fund. This year's event will take place on Saturday, September 27th at the outdoor pavilion of the Newburyport Elks located at 25 Low Street, Newburyport, MA.
This tournament will have a Beginners Division and a Competitive Division, with all players in both divisions playing a minimum of 6 games. In addition to the tournament, we will have dozens of raffles on site, as well as a cash bar.
The tournament will be limited to 68 total teams, so pre-registration is recommended. Grab a partner and come join us for an afternoon honoring Brett!
