Bret's House Party

Brett's House Party exists somewhere between a DJ set and a live
band. The music never stops. Grooves evolve, textures shift, and one
idea seamlessly becomes the next while the pulse keeps the dance
floor moving. No two performances are ever the same.
Built around two basses, electronic drums, layers of synthesizers,
guitar, lap steel, and live processed vocals, the Portland-based
collective performs fully improvised jamtronic house music without
backing tracks, pre-recorded loops, or a setlist. Every kick, bass line,
synth hook, vocal riff, and transition is created live in the moment.
Led by bassist Brett McConnell, the band has refined its sound
through recurring residencies at Portland's Goodfoot Pub & Lounge.
Their debut album, Hunker Down, releases August 15, 2026, and
captures the energy of those live improvisations. After winning
Cascade Equinox's regional Band/DJ Contest in 2025, Brett's House
Party is expanding beyond Portland with regional touring and
festival appearances throughout the Pacific Northwest.
