Breath Club @ in8 Space: Conscious Connected Breathwork
About this Event
A different kind of group experience
in8 Space was created on a simple belief: that wellbeing starts from within. Breath Club fits naturally into that world. This is a small, intimate group session using Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB) to help your nervous system release what it has been holding.
Everyone in the room breathes with eyes closed, focused entirely inward. It is not a performance. There is no sense of being watched or on display.
A quick guide to the practice
Conscious Connected Breathwork is a restorative, resolution-based somatic practice. Unlike power breathing methods such as Wim Hof, which intentionally stress your system to build resilience, CCB works to lower your nervous system's baseline tension, clearing the physical backlog of accumulated pressure from the inside out.
A specific continuous breathing rhythm temporarily quietens the over-analytical part of your brain. This is a recognised neurological shift, not a mystical claim. By giving your inner critic a break, your mental guard drops. Long-held emotional tension and stress can safely surface from the body, returning you to a calmer, clearer baseline.
This is not relaxation. It is resolution.
What to expect
Arrival and settle in (10 mins)
Drop your bags, drop your shoulders, and settle into the space.
Overview and map (20 mins)
I walk you through the breath mechanics so your mind has a clear picture of what's coming. No need to discuss personal history.
The active breath (35 mins)
You lie down, connect the breath, and let the body lead. Facilitators offer gentle, targeted acupressure on specific pressure points to help your muscles release held tension. This is entirely optional and always based on your explicit consent.
Stabilisation and grounding (15–20 mins)
A quiet, unhurried landing. No rushing back to the world.
Who this is for
You do not need any prior experience of breathwork. This session is suitable for anyone who:
- Has done the therapy, the yoga, the meditation, and still can't shift the physical sensation of stress
- Struggles to switch off, loops through busy thoughts, or wakes at 3am with their heart racing
- Is running close to empty and wants to genuinely clear the load, not just manage it for another week
Practical details
Food: Avoid a heavy meal for at least two hours beforehand.
Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing with nothing tight around your waist. A restrictive waistband limits how fully you can open the breath.
What to bring: A water bottle. Breathwork can be dehydrating. A journal is useful for capturing anything that surfaces. All mats, blankets, and bolsters are provided.
Clinical safety
Because CCB creates real physiological change, it is not suitable for everyone. Please do not book if you have any of the following:
- Severe asthma or chronic respiratory conditions
- Heart disease or significant cardiovascular issues
- Epilepsy or a history of seizures
- Serious psychiatric conditions including psychosis or bipolar disorder
- Pregnancy
- Recent acute injuries or surgeries
If you are uncertain whether this is right for you, contact me before booking.
Cancellation policy
Full refund if cancelled 7 or more days before the event. No refund inside 7 days, but I am happy to transfer your place to a future session where possible.
About the facilitator
I spent over 30 years as a programmer and manager in the City. Twenty years of daily Tai Chi and Qi Gong taught me that the body holds what the mind can’t process. I know what it is to live in shades of grey: functional, high-performing, and quietly running on empty. Conscious Connected Breathwork was what brought colour back. I now facilitate 1-to-1 and small group sessions from my private studio in East Barnet, and am a member of the UK Breathwork Association. I help others make that same shift.
