About this Event

About This Event

Breastfeeding is more than feeding a baby — it's about support, encouragement, and making sure moms never have to do it alone.

The Loved Ones Program is an 8-session community series by TruDoulas of New Jersey, created specifically for the people who love and support pregnant and postpartum moms—fathers, partners, grandparents, aunties, siblings, friends, and anyone who wants to be part of her village.

This session, Breastfeeding: Supporting Her Right to Feed, explores the important role loved ones play in a mother's breastfeeding journey. Whether she chooses to breastfeed, pump, combination feed, or simply needs encouragement, your support can make all the difference.

What We'll Cover
  • Why family support is one of the biggest predictors of breastfeeding success
  • Common breastfeeding challenges and how loved ones can help
  • Practical ways to encourage and support her without pressure or judgment
  • Breastfeeding myths vs. facts
  • Local breastfeeding resources and where families can find help

Brittany Wright, MPH, IBCLC is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with more than 10 years of experience in maternal and child health.
