Breakthrough T1D Walk is the largest fundraising event in Canada in support of those living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) - bringing together thousands of families, friends, and supporters to accelerate breakthroughs and get us closer to cures.
The first Walk was held in 1994 in three locations – Toronto, Hamilton and Ottawa – and collectively raised $100,000. Since that inaugural year, the Walk has expanded to hundreds of communities that have raised more than $146 million to support T1D research over the last 33 years.
The Walk is more than a fundraising event, and whether you live with T1D or support someone who does, Breakthrough T1D Walk is your chance to stand up, step forward and walk for a future free from T1D.
It’s a high-energy, family-friendly event where you’ll meet others who "just get it." Expect smiles, team spirit, and a whole lot of heart. There will be speeches from families living with T1D, games, onsite activations and vendors. Create a team today and join the fun!
