Dogs: Well-behaved, leashed dogs and service animals are welcome at the event! Please keep in mind that it can get quite busy, and we kindly ask that you clean up after your dog to help keep the event enjoyable for everyone.
Parking: Please note that the cost of waterfront parking is determined by the City of Barrie and attendees should review parking fees prior to attending the event. Residents of the City of Barrie can apply for free parking here.
What’s happening at this year’s Barrie Walk?
Family Fun Zone: Packed with activities everyone will love - from colourful face painting and balloon twisting to creative button making and you can even make your own slime to take home!
Lunch: Enjoy a pizza lunch generously provided by Domino’s Pizza and don’t forget to bring your water bottle to stay hydrated on the route!
Breakthrough T1D Walk is a high-energy, family-friendly event where you’ll meet others who "just get it.” Expect smiles, team spirit, and a whole lot of heart. The Walk is more than just an event – it's a celebration of the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community, where families, volunteers, and supporters come together to help make every day better for those living with type 1 diabetes.
