Who was Alan Turing? A genius. A hero. A visionary. Someone whose work to crack the Enigma Code during the war at Bletchley Park – and as the first person to lay down the conceptual foundation of modern computing - has impacted on every single one of us. But someone who, due to his sexuality, was penalised by the state.
Breaking The Code is Turing’s story. Written by the skilful Hugh Whitemore, it captivates without seeking to glorify or sensationalise his highs and lows, nor patronise or preach. It is a thoughtful insight into the man, his work, what drove him and what led to his untimely death.
Performances 7:30pm with a 2:30pm matinee (only) on the first Saturday followed by a Q&A.
