This could be one of the most interesting classes you take. Inside of it, we unlock movement possibilities you've never even thought of.
This class is NOT learning how to dance, but rather how to think, and will lay groundwork for the pedagogy of tango movement. By investigating movement and possibility-sometimes weird, sometimes wonderful-we can explore tangos creative potential.
This was the starting ground for what has been labeled “tango nuevo” (which was defining and liberating movement possibilities inside of the tango, not designed as a new style of dance, so don’t get me on a rant, haha.)
I consider the framework of this class an absolute must for teachers, growing teachers, and the basis for couples work. Therefore, it’s implied you know int/adv movements (sacadas, boleos, ganchos) for this class to make sense. If you feel ready to be challenged mentally but are unsure of your level, check in with us about appropriateness. We’ll be honest.
