A South Asian Heritage Month celebration bringing communities together to honour Unity in Diversity, promote Mental Health and Wellbeing
Breaking Barriers: Roots & Resilience in Mental Health
Join Scottish Asian Counselling Services (SACS) for Breaking Barriers: Roots & Resilience in Mental Health, a free community event taking place as part of South Asian Heritage Month and the All In Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games programme.
Mental health conversations do not always reach the communities that need them most. For many of us, talking about emotional wellbeing can be shaped by cultural expectations, family dynamics, faith, identity and belonging.
This event brings those conversations into the open — gently, safely and on our own terms.
With the theme of Unity in Diversity, the event will bring together South Asian and ethnic minority communities, mental health professionals, local services and community organisations in one welcoming space to celebrate culture, connection and wellbeing.
What to expect:
Community stalls from organisations supporting mental health, wellbeing and inclusion.
Key Note Speakers.
Space to ask questions, share stories and connect with others.
Resources and information rooted in the Scottish Asian experience.
Conversations that take culture seriously — without stereotyping or simplifying
Opportunities to learn more about culturally responsive support across Glasgow and beyond
Whether you work in mental health, support someone who does, or are simply curious about what culturally rooted wellbeing looks like, you are warmly welcome.
