About this Event

“Building on the theme of Cultural Literacies, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Roots, this book panel includes USC alums and Los Angeles natives. Angel Obregon, Bella Castillo, Dennis Ojogho, Azmera Hammouri-Davis.

With honorary remarks from Ms. Lorraine Bradley, Mayor Tom Bradley's daughter, we will discuss the cultural and educational impact of the first Black mayor and longest-standing mayor of Los Angeles through literature. Each panelist will discuss how Mayor Tom Bradley's life influenced their own trajectory and creative writing practice as authors and professional advocates devoted to community empowerment and healing.
