The Bread of our Patriots Workshop with Robert Gosselin
Cost of each Workshop Ticket $50
Space is limited to 10 first come first serve
Colonists introduced traditional bread-making, including sourdough,
to the Americas. Join Robert Gosselin for a straightforward class
covering starter care and baking; you'll go home with your own
starter, instructions, and knowledge about what makes sourdough
unique and nutritious.
Sourdough is distinguished by its natural fermentation process, which relies on wild yeast and lactic acid bacteria to produce a flavorful, tangy loaf with a chewy texture and crisp crust. This method not only gives sourdough its signature taste but also enhances digestibility and nutritional value compared to conventional breads. In the class, you will learn techniques for mixing, shaping, and proofing dough,as well as tips for troubleshooting common issues. All levels are welcome, whether you're a novice or an experienced baker looking to refine your skills.
Restrooms and water are available on-site. Space is limited to 10 participants, first come, first served. Proceeds will contribute to the Historic Clapp House Preservation Campaign, making our shared history available to all. Reserve your spot today and be part of our inclusive journey!
