Join us from 8-10am as always for our monthly
First Friday Welcomin' the Community FREE Breakfast
Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice HQ
This one supa'-special as we open for the first time our Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice Queer History Archive in full-force!
This long-gestatin’ project will powerfully present our heretofore untold quintessential Queer stories in a first of its kind dedicated digital archive spotlightin’ our namesake Black Queer LGBTQIA+/Civil Rights pioneer Bayard Rustin (but absolutely also featurin’ other fab folx whose stories have gone far too long untold!)...
This substantial online platform is truly a team effort movin’ forward in community, camaraderie, & co-conspiracy under the awesome auspices of our new BRCSJ Chief Curator Shaquana & Non-Violence Advocate Sam with significant support from Queer Educator Dr. Sara & Chief Activist Robt Martin. The virtual archive will also serve alongside its physical counterpart here at the Center’s Princeton HQ to illuminate the lives & legacies of all our folx whose histories were tragically erased for decades & preserving & protecting all our stories henceforth in the process. These historical materials are shaped to share significant stories that honor Rustin’s impact & pushes our Center’s pursuit of truly intersectional social & racial justice as is the quintessential heart of the very tapestry of our meaningful mission...
This work is about more than preservation~
It is about justice, truth, & making space for those individuals forgotten & sharing those stories untold for far too long.
Much respect to AP & GCN among many other press publications & online platforms who have already helped to amplify this powerful project...
Our past informs our present which inspires our future!
Especially significant as our Breakfast in indeed inspired by the Black Panther Party People’s Free Food Program & this monthly event has become a wonderful tradition here in Princeton since we first started it over eight years ago~
Whether you are an old friend or new ally, we would really dig to see you again or indeed for the first time.
Share a meaningful moment with our whole magnificent menagerie here at BRCSJ HQ, & whilst yer at it, grab a fresh bagel, a delish vegan treat, & some tasty coffee (donated by our friends at Starbucks!) to start a beautiful day in Beloved Community…
The morning light here is quite beautiful & we dare say, even mayhaps inspirational, so please come & share some of it with us~
No business, just breakin' the fast together communally~
All are welcomed
All are loved
All are served coffee & babka!
Help us to make our dedicated Queer Safe-Space even more welcomin’, our events even more extraordinary, our programs even more powerful, our initiatives even more inspirational to recognize, respect, & indeed LOVE all our fabulous friends, our awesome allies, & our chosen fam, & most importantly~ YOU...
Visit our BRCSJ HQ, community activist Center & educational bridge for all our LGBTQIA+ youth & seniors, our intersectional families, & all our beautifully diverse folx across that all-inclusive rainbow spectrum, & learn more about the good works of the people we strive to do herein each & every day.
PLEASE SUPPORT OUR ANGELIC TROUBLEMAKING in this tender time & help us keep all our events, programs, & resources FREE of charge & accessible to all~
