The Zouk community in Belgium (and in the world) is diverse and welcoming. We have fun during classes and occasionally organize events also beyond the dance floor. If doubting whether Zouk is for you, just come during the first 2 classes for a free try-out class, meet the people and ask us any questions.
If you are a dance enthusiast, who wants to fast-forward your Zouk and go straight to intermediate group, we also offer private Zouk classes. During private classes we can teach you the fundamentals that we build upon in the intermediate course on your own tempo . Don't hesitate to contact us in case you need more information about it.
What to expect:
In the course, you will learn what Zouk is about, how to move to its rhythm and enjoy long evenings on the dance floor. We focus on teaching you proper basic techniques, that are reusable throughout most of the dances.
We start with a warm-up to prepare your body for movement.You will hear us explaining, showing but most importantly, you will practise with us, music and different dance partners.
Our classes are based on an individual approach. We try to dance with everybody during the class and give personal feedback. Therefore the capacity of the class is max. 12 couples.
Other info:
The language is primarily English. But we can also answer the questions in Dutch.
Zouk is a social dance mostly danced in a couple and is based on connection, leading and following. Therefore, we change partners every few minutes during our classes.We expect attendance in at least 8/12 classes. If you miss multiple classes, it may be difficult to catch up with the rest of the group.
There is no specific dress code. Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely. We suggest shoes that are not too sticky. Your knees will thank you 😃.
Venue:
Beautiful venue with mirrors easily accessible by public transportation or bicycle. In case you are coming with a car the best option is to park on the Single or at Gamma Borgerhout. That's 5/10 min walk from the venue.
Pricing:
Price for a full course of 12 classes is 150€. If you register more than 14 days prior to the start of the course, you get a discount of 10€. Upon registration, you will be provided with payment details.
